This 42 hour non-credit course provides learners with an understanding of PC, laptop, and printer hardware components. Students install, update, and upgrade operating systems in a small network. Learners explore each component and obtain hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting PCs, and laptops, installing and configuring Windows operating systems, updating drivers, installing protocols, and configuring a secure basic network. This course may assist learners in their preparation for writing the CompTIA A+ certification exam. It is strongly recommended that students be familiar with the Windows environment and have experience using a desktop application comfortably prior to taking this course.
Registered students will have access to Ryecast, a web streaming tool that captures lectures for on-demand viewing.
