This 42 hour non-credit course introduces Java programmers to the latest version of the Android SDK, a software stack for mobile devices the includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. Learners build and debug Android applications using API`s for networking, mapping, and location-based services, multimedia, telephony, and social media such as Twitter.
Learners manage resources, develop effective user interfaces and layouts, and create animation. Learners are not required to own an Android device for this course. It is strongly recommended that students complete CXEC320 OR have equivalent advanced Java object-oriented programming experience prior to taking this course.
Registered students will have access to Ryecast, a web streaming tool that captures lectures for on-demand viewing.
