This 42 hour non-credit course will provide learners with the skills required to develop database solutions using Visual Studio as a development tool. Topics include mapping entities and relationships using LINQ to SQL, connecting a POCO model to the Entity Framework, and managing Connections and Context. Configuring ADO.NET data services, querying data by using ADO.NET data services, managing transactions, and deploying ADO.NET components are also examined. It is strongly recommended that students be familiar with database normalization and programming concepts, have completed CXCP216 or CXEC300, or have equivalent database and/or MS.NET experience prior to taking this course.
This course uses Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0.
Registered students will have access to Ryecast, a web streaming tool that captures lectures for on-demand viewing.
