This 42 hour non-credit course provides learners with an understanding of the system administration skills required to administer servers using Linux-based operating systems. Designed to assist with their preparation for the LPIC-1 exam, this course provides learners with an understanding of system architecture and configuration, package management, file administration, directory resources, filter and pipe management, resource monitoring, data storage management, system back-up, GUI desktop environments, printer resource management, security administration, and network utilities configuration. It is strongly recommended that students complete CXIT401 AND CXIT421 or have equivalent network administration experience prior to taking this course.
Registered students will have access to Ryecast, a web streaming tool that captures lectures for on-demand viewing.
