Building on the PHP scripting skills and MySQL integration concepts learned in pre-requisite course CXCP685 (PHP/MySQL Web Design Fundamentals), this 42 hour non-credit course provides learners with the skills necessary to add e-commerce functionality to their web sites. Topics include site requirements, search engine optimization, receiving PayPal payments, processing credit card transactions, meeting on-line banking requirements, and security and privacy issues. Learners create a catalog and a shopping cart, and validate forms. It is strongly recommended that students complete CXCP685 and its pre-requisites prior to taking this course or have equivalent experience. The completion of CXCP216 or equivalent SQL experience is also recommended.

Registered students will have access to Ryecast, a web streaming tool that captures lectures for on-demand viewing.
